NOVEMBER MEETING
The November meeting of the Jackson County Retired School Personnel will be held on Tuesday, November 18th at 11:30 a.m. at Ryan’s Steakhouse.
DISTRICT 1 FALL CONFERENCE
Attending the District I Fall Conference from JCRSP were Libby Knight, Louise Marshall, and Ken Nicholson. The theme for the conference was “Setting Our Goals on Positive Action.” Memorial Committee Chairman Betty Huffman conducted the memorial service for those who had passed away since last year’s conference. Vera Taylor, President of NCRSP, was the speaker.
PROGRAM
Larry Crawford of the Jackson County Genealogical Society will present our program. Larry is the chair of the Publications Committee and Editor of Journeys Through Jackson the Official Journal of the Jackson County Genealogical Society, Inc.
LEGISLATIVE ACTION
The District 1 NCRSP Legislative Committee met with Beth Braswell, Legislative Counsel for Senator Marc Basnight, on Friday, October 10th and with Senator Marc Basnight on Saturday, October 18th to discuss our concerns relating to the COLA, State Health Plan and the state’s contribution to the retirement system.
