Grant Information From Transylvania County NCRSP

Dear  Sylvia,

Last year, the Transylvania Unit of NCRSP requested a grant of $350.00 so that we could

update our newsletter, continue our projects of communication with the community, the schools

and the retirees who have not joined our local unit.

Listed below are the activities that the grant enabled us to accomplish:

1.      Magnets to all members with meeting dates and program themes.

2.      Roses and information packets for all new retirees in the county.  These were given at

      the NCAE banquet honoring retirees.  Roses were also given to all our current members

      who are either home-bound or in nursing homes.

3.      All employees in the school system received a magnet with the NCRSP logo along

      with the message “Transylvania Retired School Personnel Thanks you for all you

      do for Children”.

4.      Fourteen cases (48 bottles per case) of water with the NCRSP logo were distributed

      by RSP members to students , staff and parent volunteers participating in Field Day

      at Pisgah Forest Elementary School.

5.      Letters of invitation to retirees in Transylvania County that have not chosen to join

      NCRSP, along with enrollment forms, both cash-pay and dues deduction and an

      historical summary of our COLAs.

6.      The newsletter has been upgraded by changing the format and by including lots of color.

      We are also using pictures of member activities to let everyone see what others are doing.

Because of the grant we received, we were able to achieve our goals. More importantly, we

 have thus far added seven new members and have prospects of several more who have yet to

complete the paper work.
